Our Aircraft
Some folks have a watchdog watching over their plane…
Alaska Air Transporters flies the quintessential bush plane of Alaska, the de Havilland DHC-2 Mk 1 “Beaver.” This amazing aircraft is purpose built for the missions and conditions of remote Alaska. The Beaver carries up to six passengers, or over 1,300 pounds of gear (or any combination thereof). Prior to your flight with Alaska Air Transporters you will be assigned a Bose A20 noise canceling aviation headset, which will minimize the noise of the aircraft engine and put you in control of the volume of the audio communication with the pilot and other passengers.
In the vicinity of the Anchorage International airport the pilot will have the remainder of the cabin headsets on mute in order to focus on communications with air traffic control.

Meet the Owner
Owner/Chief Pilot – Mark Hanten
Mark retired from a 28 year law enforcement career in Southern California in 2018 to pursue his dream of flying in Alaska. After four seasons of bush flying for a remote “fly out” fishing lodge in the Bristol Bay Drainage, he has brought his plane to Anchorage to provide air taxi service in the region. Mark grew up at a fishing lodge in Oregon guiding white water raft trips and steelhead fishing trips through his college years. His flying career began over 18 years ago when he was tasked with managing the Air Support Unit for his agency. Since then he has owned several small planes and continued to pursue aviation as a passion and second career. Join Mark for an adventure of your own…
